what trolling motor got a 2060 GatorTrax
I just made the jump and got a used 2060 Gatortrax. its used but is freaking amazing. I want to put a trolling motor on the bow so I can bowfish, bass fish, and have a backup should I have issues with my mud motor in the cold IL weather.
I'm trying to be VERY weight sensitive with this boat. Will a 55# 12V pull the boat ok? Id like to keep the larger troller and extra battery out of the boat.

It'll work. Know of at least 1 2054 and a couple 1860s with that size and they're happy. Know of one guy with an 1854 or 1860 that said it's not even close to being enough, but there are plenty of boats heavier than that 2060 in the fishing world that come with a 46 or 55 and do fine.

That's what I have on my 1860. Does fine. Keep your boat short sided so the wind doesn't tear you up too bad and you'll be in good shape. I would consider going bigger if you're talking about a lot of current, tidal movement, or real heavy loads. For what I do (bass fishing river systems) mine does a good job. Just wish it was hand control. Mostly because I'm a clumsy ass.

I have an 80# 24v on a heavy 1854 and its perfect.
I had a 55# 12v on my tiller 1854 and I always had it cranked up to move if it was windy. I thought it was always under powered..... but you don't have to have 2 batteries..

I have a Go Devil 2060 with a 55lb trolling motor. It is underpowered. I wish I had an 80lb. But that would cost an additional $500 for the motor plus another battery. I have to run it on level 5 to really move it. Was in some current the other day and was basically sitting still on level 5.
