Weld on pods?
Debating getting pods welded onto my hull. Anyone done this? Is it worth it? Pros and cons? I run a 27hp prodrive on a 1752 Alweld. Any advice is appreciated.

Re: Weld on pods?
Why would you want pods on a boat that size anyway???

Re: Weld on pods?
I had them on a 1648 Lowe with a 35 Mudbuddy. They helped carry the load. The down side I noticed was when I would put the boat in the weeds and try to get it out. When I tried to push it backwards the mud and weeds would build up between the pods making it a real pain to try and back out of the weeds/reeds. I put the same motor on an 1850 Phowler Extreme. For what it's worth, night and day difference. No pods needed and the boat handles the weight of the motor better than the 1648 with the pods.

Re: Weld on pods?
Put pods on similar size boat, same motor, and it completely robbed good water from the prop. Could not get the thing to do above 10mph with 2 guys and dog. Cut the pods off, problem solved.
