Post Rear Seat Removal
I'm wanting to remove my rear seat on 1648 flat bottom weldbilt and get a sheet of aluminum to make a solid floor.
Would cutting out the rear seat make it too flimsy? Could I reinforce some where else? I would really like to get rid of the seat. I'll add some pics of it

Cut it out. The transom should be good enough. I took all the seats out of a riveted boat and it was fine. People cut those rear seats out in the middle and make pods all the time

I had a 1748 weldbilt that came from the factory without a rear bench. It did have ribs where the seat would have been. This is the best pic I could find.

Call weldbuilt you might be able to purchase ribs to weld in, in place of the seat.

So is the solid floor a bad idea or is that usually what people do?

That one with the carpet was for sale here a few years back. Wonder how the divorce went...
