Hi, I have been watching this site for a while and have gained some useful information. My problem is I am trying to make my 2012 Gatortail into a dual purpose boat. First problem. Has anyone successfully mounted a transducer to your mud boats for off season fishing? Second, I need advice on the best dog ladder options for this boat. Looking forward to hearing from you all. |

Do a search on the site for "transducer", you should find some pics in a thread from a few months ago. The dog ladder debate has happened a couple times here, with the going opinion is that there are a lot of opinions, and no best one. Just what's best for you. Search the forum and probably the internet for a bunch of ideas, you'll find what you need. #CFFITR #TheGhostBoat #whoneedsphysicsihaveamudmotor |

I use a piece of plywood about a foot and a half wide and about 4 feet long. I have chicken ladder steps on it and legs on the bottom that stick into the mud and hold it steady for deployments. To mount it to the boat, I got brackets that fit over the side of the boat and clip on. Cheap, easy to make, and works great |

Cabela’s portable transducer for like $50. Someone on here suggested it and I did it. Works great. Otherwise if u put a trolling motor on it then use the mount for that. |
