I have a 1656 MST Havoc .125g and i have some pretty good hooks on the bottom two center runs. One has a dent running about 5ft forward and ends at the transom about 2/3in deep and the other is roughly 1ft long by 2/3 in deep also ending at the transom. The boat has a 37HDR and only getting 22/23 mph out of it and spray line is way too far forward. With season opening in 2 days and living in kansas far from the repair places, what are some quick solutions to my problem to get through this season? Anyone tried bondo with or without GG over the top of it? I wont be hitting any rocks or many stumps, mainly just will drag on shallow mud and vegetation . |

Bondo with gator glide over the top will be a very temporary patch at best. Do you have access to the bottom floor from the inside of the hull? If so, you can tamp the hooks out. Many people have tamped the hooks out with good success. If you are not comfortable, get someone to do it for you. How far are you from Little Rock area? WJR customs in Cabot, Ark. does really good work. |

get a wood 4x4 and a sledgehammer. beat the hooks out. done. rip floor out if necessary to get to hooks. |

Getting to the hooks is pretty tricky as they are up under the step transom. So to get back to the worst part is about an arms length back up under there, covered with diamond plate which I could remove, but then would still only have about 1ft of room to set a block and swing a hammer at .125g metal. WJR is about 7 hours from me and recommended bondo with gator glide for this season and then said it would run around $1,500 to repair during the off season. They said they have heard people having great luck but I would like to hear from someone who has tried it in the past |

I did fasco epoxies. Made for aluminum. Filled in my hooks near transom and been fine ever since. There is a couple threads on this topic. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I have used fasco epoxies to fill in hooks in my hull before. it works fine till u break it off and then the boat runs weird. you are better off having a buddy 'steal' your boat and getting insurance to buy u a new one. lol when u say step transom, do u mean like a huntdeck? just cut a hole in the top of it and beat the hull flat then get it welded up, or cover it with a plate till huntin season's over. |

Oh and 1 other thing, epoxy adds weight and will crack if you hit something hard enough, thus, back to original hook. |
