Read alot of reviews on MMT regarding hull sizes. Nothing most recently so was hoping to get new opinions from others who have similar or same hulls. Both hulls would be .125 with 24 in sides, rear boxes, catwalks, short bow deck, 8 gal gas tank with a 40 EFI mb. Running. The Chesapeake so wanting 24 in sides for larger water and fishing in summer but still need it for soupy mud bottoms during ducking. Trying to decide between a 17 and an 18ft. I understand 1 foot isn't a big deal but I noticed everyone says 1854 is the ideal hull sizes and wanted to know of anyone doing it with 24 in sides. Is 18 going to impact ability to manuever in tighter areas all that much? Does the 18 really help displace that much more weight that the boat will draft shallower and get on pad easier? |

The bigger 1854 boat will carry a load better. The 1754 will be slightly faster empty all things else bring equal. An 18’ boat has never kept me from going anywhere a 17’ boat could go. 1854 gets my vote for best all around sized boat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thank you Full Throttle. Appreciate the feedback. That's the way I'm leaning. It's usually me another guy a dog and gear. But often there are 3 of us so I'm thinking to err on the side of having it and not needing than wishing I did and needing it |

Get the bigger boat. My 1854 did great even when my 35 was stock. Get the bigger boat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You’ll be happy. My GT is 1854 with 24” sides. That’s a great all around size. I think that width restricts where you can go more than length. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Will, thanks. I def think 18 was the right choice over the 17. Hoping to see better performance out of the hull. |
