Welbuilt and possibly others make a dropped front deck that gives you more decoy storage, flooring space, blind space. You can drop in a deck for fishing. Is there a reason more custom boat builders don’t build more like this? Just curious to everyone’s thoughts.

I've never thought about something like that. But where is your storage at?
I keep tow ropes. Life jackets. Hard hat lights and 2 pelican boxes in my front deck.
Great concept though

I would just put the storage in catwalks, rod box / gun boxes or in the back boxes. Most of this boils down to coming up with a better storage plan for decoys that does not have them piled up on the front (raised deck) blocking the drivers view or taking up all the flooring inside the boat to the point the hunters are cramped and have no leg room.
with guys going to the hunt decks, a dog doesn't have to sit on the front deck like before.

That’s why the newer boats are comming with mid decks... like the gator tail
Savage or xpress bayou I would imagine a lot easier to see

But how will you store your bow rope?

To each their own. Its not groundbreaking, though. 8 dozen decoys, 2 passengers, and all our gear in a 1748 doesnt leave people with no leg room or sightlines blocked while driving. Once we're hunting, there arent any decoys in the boat. Do your thing, dude, and good looking out for something different. Just dont see the mousetrap being improved by a drop deck vs a regular deck. I prefer the front storage and a gun box.

I think the theory is you only need 8-10’ of floor space for 3 guys to hunt so what do you gain by losing all the storage up front when you get rid of the deck?

I actually really like this
I'm about to get my front deck removed as the bracing underneath is busted.
I may look at doing this as an option

Very cool.

I had a drop in built for my 2060 gator trax. Its awesome for bowfishing. I pull it for duck hunting. Its made my boat totally adaptable to all year round activities. highly recommend.

How about having a storage box that is removable in that same space so you can have the drop deck but also have the bow storage if you want it. Best of both worlds

here are some pics from when I added the turf. The deck drops in. The light rail is also completely removable. It pins the the spud holes in the front and then some female posts on the rear of the deck.

also i don't know how to turn these pics.
