Post GT 1860 Poling platform
Does anyone have a GT Boat with the poling platform on it? Does it add much weight to the boat and does it negatively effect the performance in any way? I'm thinking about adding this option to the rig I ordered. I love to fish the shallows and I think it will come in handy..plus I can mount a few rod holders on it. Any thoughts one way or the other on the platforms???

I love my poling platform. Make sure you get it with a removable handle bar. I usually put someone on top to fish while I am on the front deck working the trolling motor. Being up that high really helps you spot redfish. I also will sit on it and fish when anchored, I use it to see farther when scouting ducks and I put my generator on it while bowfishing.

That is a nice looking rig Wilson. What size boat is that? Kyle at GT is going to get tired of me....I keep calling and adding things to my boat. Their website doesn't list the platform so I don't know what it cost. The Platforms at GD are $425.00 so I'm guessing about the same at GT.

It's a 1660. The poling platform was $400-500 when I bought mine 2 years ago.

I love mine also. Its not a Gator Tail but all the same anyway. Its awesome for spotting reds. Just guessing, mine weighs maybe 30lbs. so it doesnt affect the performance. Wilson- how wide is your boat and how big of a generator do you put on top of yours? I'm thinking about doing the same thing.
