Post Trolling motor mounting on a GD boat
I'm looking into putting a trolling motor on my GoDevil boat and was wondering if there is a easy way to mount a trolling motor that can be taken off during hunting season and put back on in the spring? Also I don't have the extended deck on my GD boat and was wondering if the foot controlled style motors "petal" would reach the floor of my boat. Would the distance be to far for a hand controlled motor? I only have experience with the foot controlled style that I use to have on my old bass boat. Any pictures of how you mounted you motor would be greatly appreciated.

so Im guessing you do not have the trolling motor mount from go devil on your boat.

Other than that Im not sure how you would mount one on your boat. Im sure some of these other guys will chime in, but Im not sure.

As far as a foot controller on a short deck, it would be a close call.

I had a gd boat (with a trolling motor mount on it) and I had an extended deck and used the foot controller. If I were you and once I had a mount fabbed to my boat I would just go with a hand controlled motor. I really dont think there's enough room. But i could be wrong.

I have a Minn Kota quick disconnect. Its 4 bolts that mount the base plate itself to the area where a trolling motor would go. This remains fixed to the boat and is roughly 5" wide by 10" long. I painted it brown to blend into boat paint / camo etc.

The trolling motor sits down on top of this base plate and a bar with 2 pins is inserted to hold the trolling motor to the base plate. I can remove my trolling motor from my rig in 30 seconds.
