 Boat Blind
I am looking to buy a blind for my 18 x 52 Phowler around the $600 to $700 range. Anyone got any suggestions?

 Re: Boat Blind
I really like my Avery Quickset with Killer Weed. We normally hunt shallow water in waders but this year with all the high water in AR we hunted out of the boat everytime we hunted. The blind worked great hunting flooded green timber and in more open cypress deadenings.

 Re: Boat Blind
Phathead,
How does it attach to the boat? What boat do you have it on?

 Re: Boat Blind
Beavertail has a good one too. Still have to grass it up, cane it up, or brush it up to make it disappear tho.

 Re: Boat Blind
I have a Phowler Extreme 1848. The blind attaches via 4 mounting brackets. The blind legs then attach to these brackets. The blind can be removed from the boat (leaving brackets in place) in less than a minute. Brackets can be removed in a couple of minutes using a ratchet and socket.
On my Phowler, I have a front deck so the brackets are mounted to the front deck using rivnuts (they come with the blind along with setting tool) and 1/4" hexhead bolts (7/16" head). I have rear pod seats that don't sit as high as the front deck so I used 2 War Eagle T-Rail mounting plates to attach the mounting brackets to with bolts and nuts. The T-rail on Phowlers has a vertical face so I had to bend the War Eagle mounting plates a little to get it to work. A piece of 3" or 4" aluminum or steel angle iron could also be used. This mounting is rock solid in the front and a lot more solid than I ever imagined in the rear. Eventually the War Eagle T- rail plate will break but it has lasted 4 seasons on 2 different boats and it has taken the rigors of people using it as a grab rail to take whizzes from the boat and constant beatings from buck brush and cypress trees. Here's some pictures of what I described above.
