Post subject:  How Much Is My Boat Worth?

I'm thinking about stepping it up to an inboard jet system because I'm going to move to Alaska. There are some who think that I should bring this thing up there with me, but I'm not convinced just yet. Anyways, it's located in Montana. I have put threads up before about this boat, but I had to re-register because I forgot all my log in info.

It's one of the TMT boats, I'm pretty sure it was their demo boat, it's got a couple of cool custom features like spud pole holders that I converted to oar locks, a drybox that follows the curves of the hull, multi-switch panel, It's basically a Phowler High Transom Extreme V, made without Phowlers consent. IT has a MB 35 Hyper with 25 hours. Always garage kept. I am in Montana and I don't know if that's going to hurt or help the value. Double axle trailer with all new bearings and swing away tongue.

Thanks.

what is year and size of boat and year of motor.

There is a guy on here from Alaska (I think it is stualaska, but not sure), I would pm him and see what he thinks about bringing that boat up there and if it makes sense. He is a good guy and knows his stuff from what I have seen.

Good luck

Nice looking rig...

Hull is an 09

Mud Buddy is an 08 because they were giving good deals on what they had in stock that had the old style trim, I bought the motor in 09.

The boat was slightly used when I got it, which is why I think it was a demo or something. It came out of the TMT bankruptcy auction. It has very clean welds and in general seems to be well constructed. I haven't used it too much. It is supposed to be 17 1/2' but the tape measure says it's 18'.

So, with the additional information, in this market, in Montana/ pacific northwest, how much should this thing go for? Includes blind and all accessories.

Things are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them.

That being said, my guess with a stock motor would be in the 8-10K range. Just guessing.

Ben,

As new as that thing is, the motor should be worth at least $4K and the boat worth at least the same. I am not a big fan of the rather unique camo pattern those guys put on that boat, but that can be easily fixed if it bugs someone.

The boat being in the Western US could help or hurt your cause. We all know the tremendous freight costs to get a Phowler or a Louisiana-made boat out here. Plus freight on the motor. You could save someone a grand or two right there.

I would get the thing on the Refuge Forums and Duckhunting Chat including the forums for western states. Also craigslist. Sometimes these things sell fast, sometimes slowly. It took me a year to sell the Gatortrax, but I was holding firm on the price. The V front Phowler boats are a great design but someone is gonna either love or hate the look. If you price it right you just might find someone waiting in the wings out here who will snatch up a good deal on a nice combo.

Good luck.

Stu is a solid dude and after some email conversations with him I have decided to keep the rig for some Alaska adventures. Now my dilemma, how the f&@( am I supposed to get three boats to AK at the same time?

Put it on uship. You might also have enough there for a freight container and then ship it by water.

Ben, I lost your number when the SIM card crashed on my old phone. Give me a call if you still have my number.
