Post subject:  Whats the fastest gatortail hull?
Alright ive got a question for all you gatortail gurus. My current boat is a 16 x 38 godevil round chine and im looking at the gatortail extremes. Not too concerned with what they draft because anything would be a major improvement on my round chine. Really just want yalls opinions on fastest hull with a stock 35 gtr. Not concerned with length or width either. Anywhere from 16x48 to 18x60 would fit my bill.

not a GT owner but from what I have seen these guys run it seems like the 18x54 is pretty quick IMHO

The fastest hull I've drivin from GT is the 16x60. Boat runs awsome ans carries a load real well an drafts verry little. The next one I would suggest would be the 18x48, then the 18/17x54

anything with a 46" bottom but I have a 1854 that is a good choice also.

when i was orderin my rig the guys at GT told me 18x46 was their quickest. i have run with the 18x52 and 18x60 and we all ran pretty close together. i would say that their is only a 1 mph difference maybe 1.5 mph if that. they are real close.

Call them and ask them, but I've always been told the same thing about the 18x46 being the quickest.

OK from what i can tell They are all bout pretty close in speeds!! My 18x50 and Hoyts new 18x48 run dam near same speed.. My 17x52 ran same speed as my new boat.. kyles 18x46 extreme was 1mph slower than my 18x50 !!

With stock motor and extreme huals

18x50- 30.7
18x48- 30.7
18x46--29. 6
17x52--29.0

Don't worry about what is the fastest.What best fits your needs and average use is what you should be thinking about. Whats quickest with a light load may mot be best with a 3 man hunting load. Being 2 mph faster is not that big of a deal if it won't carry a load , or stick in the turns. The extreme will push pole better than a hull with out the pad if you pole after reds, and will be less prone to slide. If all you are worried about is speed reduce weight.
