Had one and did not like it at all, didn't hide well, couldn't grass it and it stuck out like a sore thumb. payed over 1000.00 on it just to cut it up and make a crappy fast grass look a like that was a hundred times more effective.

I have a cabelas flip top boat blind and If you hunt by yourself alot I wouldnt suggest getting that one. Its a real pain in the ass to set-up. it does hide nice but I only give it a 3 out of 5 because of how much it weighs and the roof (while it does do a nice job of keeping yo dry) is so freaking heavy when you go to lift it up to shoot I had to add assisted lift bungees over the top of it to make it doable.

Thanks for the reply. Good lookin blind but it does look heavy, did you have to put that much grass on it to make it blend. Startin to consider the shaggy pro by mudbuddy now, not water and wind proof but a bunch lighter. anyone use one this year

I saw go-devil is making them now. They look pretty good. They appear to be real easy to operate. Look on their website, it maybe worth checking out.

We use and sell alot of the Duck Island blinds. They are the lightest of all of them and have really good overhead cover, are very, very easy to put up and down and are fully adjustable. Only down side is they are light, in that the tubing is thin and it can get bent and or broken over time. So far they have been really good at replacing the few we have had needing replacment parts. I guess it is all a compromise, save weight vs. over built. I have personnally used mine for three full season and have not had any issues with it.

The MB shaggy blind as you stated is not waterproof or windproof and it is lighter UNTIL you get that sucker soaking wet and then it is heavy as a biotch!

An Avery quickset with the rain tops and 2 killerweed boat blind kits is the ticket for me. Windproof, waterproof to a degree that is acceptable, and good 3d effect to break up boxiness. Plus there is plenty of room inside the blind. I wouldn't worry about waterproof qualities you're duck hunting so you are probably wearing goretex or equivalent anyway.

i have the go devil pop up & really like it. the only other i've hunted is the gator tail & the main difference is that the gd telescopes out after you raise it for better concealment (& in when down to get it inside the gunnels). it provides pretty good wind protection & modest (sideways) rain - but it's (of course) for camo & i think it does a great job where i hunt. i've heard gd has avery make it. it's pretty heavy duty, but you do have to make sure the drunken fools on your boat don't get retarded on it - mainly using it to stand up.

Just looked at the go devil blinds and the frame does look like it would be heavier which is good. The grass looks almost white but i guess you could put some paint and a little brush and moss on it.

Yes I will have my gortex on but the rain sure splatters bacon and sausage grease alot not to mention makin your biscuits soggy. Thats how I pass the time between squeller time and mallard time. Plus mabe a little nap.

Just make a scissor blind out of 3/4 in EMT conduit piping and bimini hardware for cheap. Get fast grass and netting. I have the Cabelas Northern flight to and built my own fliptop. I'm going to modify the lower end blind soon because it sticks out past the gunnels and the grass only last 2 years max.

I made my own frame and put MB Shaggy Panels on it- blends in everywhere, makes stuff disappear. They are all heavy if they get wet. Works well for me:

Shallow Water Marine, in Palo Iowa makes the best soft sided blind on the market. When the blind is up, it is low profile and you can stand on top of it!!!!!!!!! It will take all the brush you can put on it, and still fold down. Check em out at www.sw-marine.com

i dont have any pictures but i use an avery quick set blind and i really like it. its quick puttin up, hides good, and has a net over the die cut material that you can put vegetatio in to help blend even more. it also wasnt too expensive.
