Post Polling platform is too low
I have a 1644 go devil boat and have a go devil surface drive on it. My problem is that there is not enough clearance between the top of the motor and the bottom of the polling platform. Is there a way that I can raise the polling platform up using some type of spacer or anything?

You can probably cut some sleeves and drill some holes and add a 4" extension piece off each leg with a bolt or quick disconnect that fits in... Not sure if you've used tube or flat bar.. Post some pics. TXSHOCKWAVE is a good person to ask he just did my platform... A lot of others will chime in that work with aluminum once you post some pics.

Sounds like an older platform made for longtail....

Newer ones are 10 to 12 inches taller - it should be easy
to have a shop extend and re-bend the uprights....

dude just add some washers to the bottom of the platform and use long selftapping screw. Thats what we did on a buddy of mine and it worked great.

Without seein it, I was kinda thinkin along the same lines as Shafer. My lil bro just took a 3" body lift off a jeep and had the blocks just layin around. If they'll work, let me know and I'll try to get em before he chunks em.

Giga hit it on the head there. I've got the non-surface drive boat with a surface drive motor. So are you saying cut the legs near the bottom, weld in some 10 or 12 inche extensions, then rebend so that the everything mounts up right again?

Not sure about the 23 GDSD - but on a 35 GDSD you need at least
10 to 12 inches more clearance than the LT style platform provides....

I would cut away the bottom mounts as low as possible - cause the
angles will change for the uprights - grind it smooth and reweld the
10 to 12 inch extensions back to it with the correct upright angle
after the re-bend just below the platform which will be required to
get the correct width....

The 16x44 works fine with a SD - and the platform protects both
you and the motor from tree limbs and obstacles - also nice to lean
against or hang on to when driving.... It would be worth the effort
to modify and keep it....

Take a look at what Robn's done to his ole hull.... Sweet now....
Look close under the platform at his jam box too...

X2 Backwaterballer. Too much to deal with. Sell it and get one that works.
