Getting a new multi purpose boat
I'm looking for a 18ft boat for mainly duck hunting, fishing, and getting to my camp in the atchafalaya basin, la. I need to run the back waters, inshore, swamp with tree stumps, and river. I was thinking of a semi-v bow, with a flat bottom, and tunnel hull on stern. I also am looking for a side or center console. would like get floation and pods, with storage, spary liner, pref .125 thickness hull. Motor(i know its not a mud motor but I will get one to put on this boat soon.) the one i will get is a yamaha 90. Boats I was looking at were excel, phat bouys, lakesport, etc. I would greatly appreciate any insight or help. Am I looking in the right place? Is there somewhere else I should look? .Anyone see anything im missin? Anyone have anything to add? Thanks alot

Re: Getting a new multi purpose boat
Yamaha also owns G3 - a G3 tunnel with 90 and jack plate....
Had one - great boats and affordable too.... Go 18x60 with pointed bow - very dry ride - hauled an assload of weight to and from our camps.... Can run past half exposed crab traps on plane and gets up quick in 6 inch water with soft bottoms..
