Post Hammer Prop on a GTR?
Anyone tried this setup yet? I know they Hammer Prop has been out for awhile now.

Bascially I'm tired of burning props up as quickly as i have been. Ready to try something different to see if i can get a little more life out of a prop.

I dont need more top end, i could care less. I want life/ wear, and load carrying out of it.

Anybody ever try hard surfacing a prop to build it back up and keep the wear down?

That what I'm asking, do you think a prop shop would grind it? That stuff is hard

Duck, I guess u weren't trying to get a very good comparison on the hammer prop and your prop? U lost 1 r 2 mph, but can't remember. Doesn't sound like u put much effort into the test. Did u try trimming your motor down when running? Did u do anything different than the way u run your prop? If not, your test was flawed at best. At worst, u have no idea how it compared.

Not trying to get cross with u, but I have never heard someone make a prop comparison like u did, unless they were hiding something.

I remember one prop comparison on here between the mb big blade and gt big blade. Mb held up better but the gt was always 1-2mph faster regardless of prop shape.

The Hammer PROP

Called Andy AKA Boat Dr. and order one arrived next day went out today and ran the hammer,by the way I have 2012 35 gtr with CALEN'S stage 2. Boat gator trax 17x50 with hunt deck 2 rear seats 2 gun boxes inclosed front deck. This prop is a beast faster whole shot 2 people dog and cooler runs deep water 29 to 30 at about 4300 rpm's lost about 150 to 200 rpm's I might have lost 1 or 2 miles an hour on top end don't think so until I can run by myself I can't tell you. Reverse is a hell of lot better have reverse plate and will soak you down this SOB is nice.

Lost 1 mile hr off top end was 32.6 now 31.4 was running 4450 now 4300. its great with load 2-70 qt coolers full 2 men 500lbs/ dog/ 12 gal boat tank/ plus 5/ 5gal fuel tanks and luggage 27 to 28 miles an hr. up on step 2 boat length.

Better hole shot with mine. Def need a motor with a little ass behind it in order to turn it. Running my 16x50 HD gatortrax commercial rig I can't hardly hit the rev limiter. I run right at about 4300 wot. With my old prop I was all over the rev limiter at 3/4 throttle.

Reverse power is great. It will suck the boat backwards when you hammer down on the gas in reverse...no pun intended. Seems pretty durable so far. But haven't beat the hell out of it.

Thanks for the info guys. I ran my GTR with the Hammer prop this weekend.

Really like the prop. Lost a little top end, but gained on the bottom, load carry, and reverse. Wait and see how it holds up.

Post Re: Hammer Prop on a GTR?
That sucks. My boat is pretty light for its size i guess. (All 1/8" and pretty open).

I can still turn this prop up to 4500-4600 to gain some top end, but in my normal 1/2-3/4 throttle i turn about 4100 rpms, where as before i was turning about 4250.

I have Calen's heads, BPS cam, Carb, MM-X.

I'm planing to get another boat, this time gonna go 1746 and buy a new motor to slap on my old boat,

I wish I can add a carb but where I hunt at it has to look stock , no motors over 36 HP which sucks
