pd lower unit not holding grease
Hey Guys, is there supposed to be another plastic/teflon washer, sleeve or whatever down here? I have always had some grease ooze out a little, but this stuff has been washing out the fresh grease too recently. I could have swore there was a white colored plastic washer below this green one, or I have no clue why I thought so? I've put some pics below. Grease leak vs. cleaner view of sleeve/washer. Also can somebody tell me what exactly holds my lower unit up in place when looking at the lower clutch coupler, there are 4 small bolts there under the clutch mounted into the lower plate, is that what holds the lower unit on?
Thanks in advance fellas!

Re: pd lower unit not holding grease
Yes those 4 bolts hold the lower unit on. The new style uses 6 bolts.

As stated over greased for sure.
2 shots every 25 hours is all you need.

Re: pd lower unit not holding grease
yep, she does turn really easy! In the past I didn't think I was remembering to grease it regular. Guess I went ape $h!t on it. My transducer was putting a lot of spray on there, and prior to my nrw grease job it looked like some of the older grease had washed out and was real grey colored and runny. Thanks again for the info! LR
