Re: mudbuddy 35 electronic clutch
You will get much more product specific information on the Mudbuddy Forum in the 'Ask the Doc and Prostaff' subforum. However, here is the link to the wiring diagram for a Stock 35 or 45HD. There are diagrams for different models on the MB Customer Page:
http://www.mudbuddy.com/_includes/MB%20 ... 2045HD.pdfAs posted above, turn the key on and ensure you have 12V at the Ckt Breaker for the Clutch (usually the one with the Red wire on the bottom terminal). If you do not, its either the Ckt Breaker (any auto parts store) or the Key Switch. If power is OK, track back to the clutch switch.
To test/isolate the clutch switch, remove the bottom of the football on the tiller handle to expose the connections for the clutch switch. Turn the key on and try jumping the Brown wire (power to clutch) to Red wire (12V from Ckt Breaker). If you hear the clutch engage, then replace the switch (call MB or your dealer to order that part).
If the clutch does not engage, remove the clutch cover on the outdrive and with the switch on and the clutch swith on, ensure the connection to the clutch is firmly seated. If the connection is bad you can order a new harness for the clutch from MB.
Tip: Its a good idea to print the wiring diagram and leave it in a ziplock with your tools in the boat. If you ever have a problem out on the water, you may be able to temporarily bypass switches etc... to get you going.
