 Re: getting props re worked
I have talked with Hopkin's and he said you just as soon buy a new prop for what it will cost you to rebuild. I have 2 worn out props.

 Re: getting props re worked
Rebuilt props don't last long compared to a new one. I keep a worn prop as a spare or sacraficial prop if in sand/sandy silt.

 Re: getting props re worked
I bought a new prop and I was going though props every 50-75 hours. I took one of them and sent it to get heat treated, and the prop held up for almost 150 hours and it would have held up longer but one of the blades broke off, in that case they all do that. I had a new prop with out being harden break off. My thought is heat treating a prop will last longer and you save money.

 Re: getting props re worked
Unfortunately, for the most part here at Jefferson Propeller, we can straighten, weld, cup & balance all mud boat, gator tail props. We can rebuild all propellers back to original specifications, however its generally not cost effective for either ourselves or the customers to rebuild their smaller props. However, there are many shops locally capable of this repair. Baggy's & Precision Propeller I reference quite often for these repairs.
Thanks,
Kent Ourso Jr. Manager-Jefferson Propeller
