Re: lower gear change on a mudbuddy
Back out the 2 allen head bolts that hold the gear on the cone, run 1 of the bolts in the 3rd hole in the cone until it bottoms out, then get another 1/4-1/2 turn on it. That should push the gear off of the cone, if not, tap it with a hammer & turn the screw some more. Repeat until the gear slips off the back side of the cone toward the shaft housing. Next, take a wooden shim & slip it into the slit on the cone just enough to loosen it from the shaft. Remove cone & gear, replace everything back onto shaft.
Sent from my Droid because I'm trying to be as cool as you someday.

Be extra carefull when prying that cone off. I cracked mine the first time I did it. i have heard it will still work craked but I orderd a new one and replaced the seal in it right away just to be on the safe side. Like camo said use a wood dhim I found out a flat head screw driver was a little much. On the plus side it comes off way easier in 2 pieces

They will work just fine with a cracked Taper lock bushing once they are aligned and pulled back into the pulley the friction bond will clamp to the shaft and to the the pulley.
