i just put a brand new 23 hp van. for my mudbuddy frame.
my old 23 put me and nother person on step, but barely.
my new 23 has an 11inch prop, and it puts 4 people, and all gear, on step going 26mph! which is crazy!
does a 23 normally run an 11 inch prop?
could my new motor possibly have a gear reduction?
im also turning 4200 rpm!
me and another person go 33 mph. my buddy has a stock gator tail, and i beat him when he was alone and i have another person with me.
i love all mud motors, not messing with a gator tail, but why is my 23 mudbuddy so fast?

i was thinking that id get the same results from my new 23.
i tell everyone i work with, and no one beleives me.
my buddy took out his 35 GTR.
and i told him that he would have to go half throttle so i can keep up.
come to find out, i had to slow down for him.
do some engines come with a gear reduction in the engine?

That motor wont come with a gear reduction built in it, if that was the case it would be slower unless you had a huge prop.

Most likely cause, even though i doubt you would see that much gain is that it came with a new pulley and you have a taller gear ratio now.

I got the same engine wiith exhaust and mikuni carb I turned 3890him today scouting in shallow water and was running 25.3mph best I ever did with me and my 1 year old. Total BS!

I've seen some boats I didn't think would run that great, a friend of a friend has a bosco 1860 w/ a stock 36 pd. I really think it was the fastest stock mm I have ever seen. He ran us down in my gd boat. Funny thing was the prop was identical to my gdsd 3 blade. I was surprised, so I'm not going to call total bs but I'd really like to see this 23 run 33mph.

Hell I love my mud buddy but I'm no cheerleader. If I had reverse be a diff story but I break 30 here and there with my rig but i have a built motor minus a mikuni. If I had it according to newbie I'd break 40
