 Go Devil Lt PRop
I recently broke my prop on my 31hp gdlt. Im needing a new one but im a tad unsure of what to get. I spoke with godevil and they said the 31 and 35's come with a 10x4. I tryed to order this from my prop guy and he strongly discouraged me saying it was entirely to small. He recommended a 10x7. I was running about 3700rpm empty and 3550 Loaded with my old stock prop but it WAS pretty worn. What size do yall recommend?

That sounds small to me too.

 Re: Go Devil Lt PRop
http://www.godevil.com/GO-DEVIL_Props.html10x6 is the one you likely want --- it will put a typical MM hull up into the 20 mph and up range with a load... The 10x4 would be a powerhouse but quite a bit slower... Call GD again... Talk to them about your hull and typical use as to loads and types of conditions faced...

 Re: Go Devil Lt PRop
In a commercial application - like pulling pipe or cable across a shallow lake the 10x4 makes sense but for fishing and hunting I bet you want that 10x6....
Unless you have mods or a super light hull the 10x7 and up are likely to tall a pitch....

Where's Lance? I know he has put a new prop on his 35 longtail in the last year. He still couldn't outrun me but I was impressed with how fast his LT was.

 Re: Go Devil Lt PRop
If you were turning your 10x4 @3700 and it was worn down, you'll be lucky to spin a 10x7 3550 by yourself.

 Re: Go Devil Lt PRop
Definitely check your old one's stamping ! ! !
My GDLT 23 came with a 9x6 --- just like Backwaters and I got about 21mph with a 16x48 GDSD hull
One revolution equals 6 inches of theroretical forward motion
The larger motor should turn the larger 10x6 blade well unless the boat is a tank and you need a lower pitch
but I disagree with your prop guy on the 10x7 choice - cause I tried one on my 23 and it was actually slower with 2 guys and a load - but 2 mph faster solo @ 23mph - not a good choice "all around" though on my rig....

 Re: Go Devil Lt PRop
Also Bart from Go Devil tells me the current design 10x6 is different from the 10x6 of years past...
That GoDevil has been using a bit lower pitch than they used to with the newest logtail prop design....
So the moral might be that not every 10x6 or 10x7 will behave the same...
Might be differences from mfg to mfg....
