Post Any photos of Go Devil prop removal tool?
I am having hell getting this prop off of 23GDSD. Anyone have photos of the prop removal tool or a home made one? I have tried using a 2x4 for leverage like giga suggest, big hammer and block of wood, heat.. it aint budging, infact I may have ruined my cav plate trying to gain some leverage. I can get a fab shop to make prop tool for me but I was hoping to get a picture to figure out what I am trying to build.

I always told myself this GD would suffice for what I do, didnt need power trim because I mainly run tight timber and always need to lift motor in and out of water to get over logs, didnt need neutral either in timber, why reverse when I had a push pole, but damn this aint no fun removing a GD prop, this might be the deal breaker, whats so complicated about using a hex???

Mine was really easy. Put a crescent on the top nut against ur cavation plate and put a big crowbar between the blades on prop. Twist it right off. U may have to use a cheater pipe on it if it's been a while since removed. I put no seize back on the threads

I used a crescent wrench on the front nut and a weight lifting bar between the prop and shaft.

have you hit it with penetrating grease?

Leverage is key - big wrench with an extension - 2x4 works sometimes/most time - but when you do get it off - Anti-Seize the thing. Then removal will be easier...

don't have a picture but it does make life much easier having one. I'd suggest getting one if you plan on keeping the motor for a good while.

I will post pics later today of what I built, prop came off no problem once I had the right tools for the job. A prop removal tool is a must for this motor. If anyone in Lafayette ever needs to borrow it let me know, it will work for surface drive or longtail.
