 Gator Tail Trim Mount

Post Gator Tail Trim Mount
Just got my new trim in the mail and was starting to put it back in and saw that the mount under the handle could be moved by hand if I put some force behind it. My question is should that mount be fixed or a so called "floating" mount? Just thought I'd check on here before playing phone tag. Thanks for any help!
