Post Prop tech or just possible hypothesis
We went from a 2blade to a 3blade for vibration and to better use the motors torque or at least that's the understanding I've gathered. So why when outboards went to higher hp they added blades 2->3->4 and even some 5 blade options. Yes I know it's a ratty ass Briggs but the mods we are doing and the tweekin we are doin to props will we ever add more blades or will it always be a pitch and cup game to achieve performance.

I'll take a 12 blade for my Gen III PD if you can build it!

I think the reason everyone likes the 2blade is because it does better in deep mud and still runs good speeds in deep water. I've been playing with a few props over the last three months and have fount the 3 blade performed better in deep water, well 12" and deeper, and had faster speeds than the 2 blade. Now tweaking props is time consuming and can cost some money if you pitch and repitch several times. Once you find the right combo with reduction and prop size you may be happy. I have also learned that different hulls will require a different combination.

So pretty much there isn't one golden prop to fit all situations but with that being said other than infinite props in the parts bin why don't the companies offer more selections when it comes to props
