What are my prop options for a 2012 prodrive and what kind of performance would I get out of each one. Thanks for the help

Performance will be related to your rig, how and WHO works the prop to perform best for YOUR rig. And...how you set up the prop to achieve what you want....bottom end, load carrying, speed..

Stock is your best option unless you mod your engine, then adding a little bit of pitch will help.

There is no magic one prop that fits everybody's needs. But, for the most versatile the stocker is it.

You want specifics, like more top end, more bite in the mud or more load carrying ability...I don't think you're going to find it in a single prop. Get you one for each occasion and have it worked to fit your boat's needs....and buy plenty of Never Seize for that Gen II threaded shaft!

I have a question to add here... When going through a lot of props, what is the cheapest option? Prodrive prop?

I've been buying stock props but I think I'll have LA Prop make me one next if he has the capabilities

Stock props from Pro-Drive or keep an eye on the classifieds for used ones. They show up every now and then. Stock is the most economical.


Most liberals seem to suffer from the same mental condition....it's called stupidity!

I have PMI'd the Hopkins Cleaver I have and a stock Tulip...they are the same metallurgy. So, I don't really get it when people say they last longer....unless he's doing some additional heat treatment to his to make them more erosion resistant.

But, from my personal experience with Hopkins, not saying I'll never buy another Cleaver from him...because I like my Cleaver for the mud. But, I will never have him work one for me. Even his new props need to have the tapered bushing skim cut because he leaves them so "butchered" is the best way I can describe it. Dude has no attention to detail whatsoever. Nothing but bad experience dealing with him...at least for me.

Man that's surprising about the metallurgy! Maybe one or the other has/had changed something idk... All I can say from my own experience in the exact same conditions the PD doesn't last as long. I just put a slightly worn stocker that never seemed to run all that great back on and have been tweaking it to fit my liking, it'll probably last forever now that ive said all this. Haha Both props I've bought from him have been fine though I don't mind working a prop to suit my own personal taste. I do find dealing with ***** to be a bit challenging however.
