 GDSD drive shaft replacement
Anybody pulled an old drive shaft and replace with a new one? Had one break in half and need to replace. Bought all new bearings, seals, prop, shaft etc...Just need to know what I am getting myself into pulling the broke shaft and installing the new one. Did a search but did not find much. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

 GDSD drive shaft replacement
Did it break in half literally?!? Or at the prop? Mine broke at the prop. Had my neighbor grab it with some channel locks and it came out pretty easy with a few taps of a hammer on the channel locks. Once I had the yoke split and the eccentric locking collar off. Putting it back together was the pain in the ass for me. Didn't realize I would have to ream the bushing bc I never had to on my long tails. EDIT: Now that i think of it. I had to go by And see Paul at airboats unlimited (godevil dealer) to make sure I got it all put back together right and buy a new prop from him. Lol.. He said I had my shaft driven a smidge too far into the yoke but it was still ok. It was a real bitch putting all that back together.

 Re: GDSD drive shaft replacement
Had to weld a "t" handle on it. The shaft broke off at the collar exposing 1/16 of an inch of drive shaft. After getting the "t" handle on I was able to tap it out. Getting the new one in and all new seals etc. was fairly easy. Thanks for all the replies.

Did not have to ream. Tapped on the "t" handle just a bit and the shaft came right out. Install went fairly easy.
