Post Gdsd prop with mods
Bout to build my engine up.
Cam heads exhaust for sure and possibly carb too.

Just realized that I might need to do something with my prop?
I've got two stock three blades that are basically brand new.
Was thinking about sending one back and having it pitched up to a 11x13?
That way I have the stock 11x12 and then one with another inch of pitch to play with once I get done.

Anybody out there messed with them much? I'm just shooting in the dark here bc I can't find much info on it. I think I should be able to turn the pitched up prop pretty easy. Boat is a 1860 and gets decent speed already on a stock motor.

GD 3 blade is my favorite all around prop and last longer in sandy mud i run but it seems to really take some low gears or lots of power to turn them. you might wait till mods are done and see how stock prop performs before you spend money having it pitched up.

The 2 blade responds better to more pitch and more rpms...

Hopkins built the original GD 2 blade and will sell you a taller pitch...

The original GD 2 blade was a 12"x12 pitch and the 3 blade is a 11"x11 pitch
the problem with repitching an existing prop is that you risk loosing the metal
hardening and original cup design...

FYI - the GD 3 blade has by design slight pitch differences on each blade and
is not a full 12 pitch - closer to 11.5 on average. It was custom designed and
they are built off the original molding which was not symetric. Anytime I have
had a three blade reworked it came back worse with too much lift or no
performance in mud but good deep water performance.... Those that turned
the 3 blade over 4000 and regeared to change ratios often went back to the
original hubs as they gave up bottom end to get speed and found the 3 blade
blowing out when turned at higher rpms... Those tricks work better on that
original 2 blade...
