Gen 1 PD Lower Shaft Seal
After finding lots of water in my LU I changed the oil and it is no dripping from the drive shaft surface and seal on the nut. I have seen a few threads talking about part numbers and switching to 3 seals vs 2 but nothing on the actual procedure.
I just ordered 2 new seals. I don't see a whole lot of info on how to swap the seals inside the nut. There is a nice GTR seal replacement thread. Is it similar to that? Find a socket that fits and tap them in?

Yeah I talked with them, they said they had a special tool to re-install them. I was thinking a socket would do the trick.

I upgraded from the 2 seals to 3. No special tool needed. Take off prop, then I screw the seal. It’s left handed if I remember right. Order the 3 seal nut, and you should be able to send Prodrive your old 2 seal nut and they will give you a credit

Re: Gen 1 PD Lower Shaft Seal
There is no special tool. I had a gen 2 lower with the old 2 seal setup that I developed a leak. They swapped out to the newer 3 seal setup free of charge. I did install mine with a socket being very careful. Also, the newer 3 seal has a certain orientation that they have to be installed in. Can't remember, its been a long time.
