 Big blade the right choice?
New hull and GTR 40. Hull is a Havoc 656. Motor has roughly 3 hours on it. In river current that measures 0.7mph, I am running 31.2 at 4390. I can trim up a little more, hit 4550-4625 RPMs, but the prop loses bite. Would a big blade with cup added, grant me a tad bit more speed, and also help with hole shot? Hole shot isn't bad, but I need something to run in the timber during duck season, and to haul a load.

Why buy a new prop? Just send that one to Baggy and have an inch of pitch added and some cup. You’d have to do the same thing to a big blade.

Re: Big blade the right choice?
I am going to be sending the same prop off to baggy. I haven’t been able to reach the shop on the phone though. Does he need the whole rig or just the prop? What would it run to pitch cup and balance roughly? I’m running gtr 37 on 1748 gtr hull. Looking. To get better hole shot out the mud with a decent load (decent load being me at 250 in the back with usually one orher hunter and gear).

Re: Big blade the right choice?
All he needs is best speed number at best rpms with empty load. From there we can dial it in. I believe work is around 110 or so, but don’t quote me on that. The shop is busy which is why they don’t always answer. If you pm me your number, feel free to contact me anytime and I can get you the info you seek bud

Re: Big blade the right choice?
I always write a note on a piece of paper and stick it in the box with the prop and mail it with details and contact information. About a week later they'll call for the funds and ship it back.

Thanks for the info. I live in New Orleans happy to drive it down and pick it up but will have that info with it for them to go off.
Just looking for ball park price and appreciate that. What he charges is what he charges final word. I have heard many good things about his work and I don’t quibble over price.
