1st Gen PD prop spin in neutral
I bought my first surface drive a few weeks ago. 1st gen PD. It has sit for awhile and I have changed the fluids out on the engine and was cranking it for the first time.
Needless to say, the motor fired and I notified the prop was spinning at a high rate. Now, I’m used to long tails and direct drive; but this thing is supposed to have a clutch and true neutral! I engaged the clutch and tried to start and it wouldn’t start (as its supposed to).
I’ve searched the site and couldn’t find anything applicable except for a thread on a GT.
Anything advice or wisdom would be appreciated.

Probably broken clutch bands not allowing it to disengage.

Or rusted and stuck from sitting up. Put it in the water and get a load on it and see if it'll break free.
