First~ For cryin out loud Hershey please use some punctuation marks. Here I have plenty you can have some if you are out. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,..............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!::::::::::::::::::;;;;;;;;;;;;?????????????????((((((((((((((((((((((())))))))))))))))))"""""""""""""""" That should hold you off for at leat your next few post.
Second~ It's no secret PD has not spent alot of time with prop research and developement. Many of us remember the props Stumpgrinder was working on. Those were some good performing prop. So yes there is much to be improved on.

I've got a 12x14 Hopkins sittin on my shop floor that motor can probably spin at 7000 rpms if I wanted to.

I got the prop off someone else and sent it to Hopkins to see if it could be rebuilt, and he said yea no problem. Paid 100$ for the rebuild and sent it back to him twice, with the results barely changing, so I just gave up.

I have been looking as weel for the so called "genie". Hershey, take some pics os the prop and maybe we can get a better understanding of you description. It may look like just an everyday prop to some but others may notice the little suttle changes that are different.

Hershey, put your numbers in the prop calculator, 4000 rpm and 34mph, results come back as prop slip is a negative number. If u didn't know, prop slip can't be a negative number. A also call BS on your speed estimates.
And who at Hopkins quoted u $480 for a prop and no warranty. U can get a brand new prop for a prodrive for ~$280 and send it back as many times as needed to get it set like u want for free.
Take a pic of your wheel and post it here.

Been running the Hopkins 12x14. Like the stocker better. The Hopkins doesnt have the bite in the thick chit that a stock wheel does. Maybe Hershey got lucky but my money says it cant be repeated and his next one wont run 34. Good fishing prop though and when new is smoother running.

Ok I got 29 on new pd prop. 12 pitch. My bottom not straight after a few years crawfishing. Runs fastest at 3900 but I can turn 4400. Suggest I bring to baggy and get pitched up to a 13?

I run Hopkins props because the last longer in the sand down here on the coast. It is a crap shoot with every prop i order from him. His price went way up and I have sent 3 props back to him trying to get them to perform on a stock 36 PD. I am not sure if I will buy another one from him or not. I will say I can get a longer life from his props over the piece of shit cast stock props. Stock props are VERY soft compared to Hopkins.

This is what the last one cost me back in January 17, 2012

Here is what the one before the last one did in deep water. I had to idle back to the ramp. He would not warranty it until i told him. I was sending it back for him to take a closer look at it to show I had not hit anything to cause this break. This prop would just blow out on take off but would run very good on top end.

It seems to me that Hershey has no reason to lie or intentionally mislead anyone. He seems like a decent guy. He's here like a lot of us-to learn a lot and share a little when he can. Yea, everybody gets fucked with here, so there's no reason he should be any different, but there's also no reason for anyone to go out of their way to do it.

On the other hand, that does seem a wee bit faster than what might be expected;)
How about a cell phone gps video?

I also have and run a 12x13 cleaver from time to time. Mine cost $295 just like the last fella but $311 with shipping.

Things I have noticed as well as my hombre whose been with on some of our tests.
All things equal as far as boat set up goes, we both feel the hopkins has a better hole shot, and I am seeing .5-1.5mph gain at the same rpms current/wind and river conditions being the big factor in that. Hopkins has no problems in heavy veggies, cant say for deep mud cause we dont have any.

Stock prop is a great prop, I picked up a new one to level the playing field. I do need some more time on each to be certain, but for the time ive had on each going back and forth this is what I have come up with.

Side note: my motor is not currently running at its potential, so things may change.
