Not trying to upset him, just like crunching numbers and comparing to my personal findings.

 Re: Gen III PD Props
I always wondered why the 2/1 ratio and still fighting prop issues. The 2 blade worked fairly well. Why not leave that same prop and go to 1.8-1 and get the same result without having to re-design props!

 Re: Gen III PD Props
Tank. What boat are you running with the gen3 and getting this speed? What prop? Re pitched 3 blade? If so you are the only one I know of getting this out of them.

 Gen III PD Props
I've got a buddy with an 18x54 SBX series, center console with gen 3 e2. With him (225ish), his wife, 2 batteries, 13 gallons of fuel, 2 icechest (1 with drinks and the other with 25lbs of fish), fishing gear and regular boat gear. 28 steady and bumping 29 and says it shoots out of the hole. I assume this is the latest and greatest from pd as he just picked up the prop earlier this week.

That boat is HEAVY. It also has the solid rear deck and gun box

 Re: Gen III PD Props
It takes time playing with a prop. PDs latest and greatest is the 3 blade 12X15 but I don't like it! 2 blade is the way to go for mud and open water! The 2 blade is out perform the 3 blade in any conditions.

I prefer a 2 overall too. So like Will asked, you have a 2:1 with a threaded shaft?

 Re: Gen III PD Props
J, I seen 2 gen3's both 18/54 one PD center console and the other sportsmans fab side console! Both with heads/cam/carb would only run 29ish...
This is with prop work from baggy! No way could they have crossed 27 with a stock prop at 4700rpm!
For reference! One boat was done in stages! With heads only it was turning the stock prop at 4550 at 26ish!
I have no idea how people are doing That with the stock prop!
These boats were on the rev limiter with heads/carb only at 27/28!!!
How are the getting 29 with a stock prop and heavier boat?
Both of the above boats needed 3" of pitch to stay off limiter! Props look identical to what you posted!

 Re: Gen III PD Props
I'm running 18x48 sportsman fab with stock prop and I'll run 27-28 steady now if I put a 45 quart+ yeti full of beer and one person around 170 in my boat I'll run 25-27 and those numbers are with no tide or current

 Re: Gen III PD Props
Holding it wide open that's all I can say lol. I was running 4650rpms with my first prop and I got a new one 3 months ago and now I'm running 4450 rpm I talked to pec and he said they added a little more cup but when the prop gets a little wear it runs a tad faster

 Re: Gen III PD Props
I got the heads done on my gen 3 with a stock, original prop. Am I understanding correctly that if I were to add a cam and carb I might be on my limiter all the time?

 Re: Gen III PD Props
Just heads/Carb put an 18/54 side console right at the limiter. Add the cam and yes, you will need prop work.
Just heads should have you at around 4500

 Re: Gen III PD Props
I have a Gen 3 lower unit with the E2 EFI kit has a 3 blade prop my boat is a 18X54 center console PD hull it runs 30.5 in a light chop and 29.8 to 30.0 in calm flat water and the prop pulls well in the mud and grass I been tweaking the prop my self and gained both speed and it does not blow out in the mud with the stock untouched 3 blade prop my speeds were 28.4. Max Just sharing this info so there is some left in the stock untouched props just takes Time and trial and error to figure out how to get more out of it
