Rubber isolators are bad on 36 HP PD/help!!!
Hey Guys, There are two rubber isolators on my tiller handle that I think are going bad, This is my first PD so I am really guessing that they are. If you are in front of the motor they are the ones to the right. They are not attached to the bottom base of the tiller handle and the other is not attached to the top. The other two to the left are. Are they supposed to be that way? Or should I order some from Prodrive. Also how do you trailer the motor without it bouncing so much, I feel like is screwing up something. I have tried to strap it down with the lower unit all the way up with no luck. Should I try a transom saver, or bring all the way down? Thanks for the help.

Should be trailered with the motor tilted all the way up. I usually strap the boat to the trailer, and then put a strap from the boat to the lower unit. Just don't tighten the strap to the motor too tight. Just enough to keep it from turning the motor back and fourth. I've been told just trim it up and let it ride but I hate watching the motor sling around when taking turns.

i'm not sure what a isolater is, but if u mean the rubber peice between the tiller and the mounting plate, yep, there are 4 of them and they have a bolt running thru them. you might be missing a couple bolts.
as far as trailering goes, i just pull the boat and don't look back. peck told me to trim it up high, but i don't ever do it.
i got the winch trim, i don't know crap about the hyd trim.
if u do strap it down, don't tie it to the trailer, tie it down to the boat in case the whole boat moves.
good luck

Thanks for the info, I was told they were called isolators. They are round rubber piece that go between the the tiller handle and frame . They are supposed to be attached to the tiller and frame right? Thank again..
