Has anybody put a big blade on a MB mini outdrive (or similar size)? MB says the minis have a smaller diameter and may experience some shaft failures. Just wondering if anybody had some strength issues with the weight or unbalancing of the prop causing some havoc. Anybody done this yet? Thanks.

We have a Big Blade on our Mini 23, which is on a GEAUX 1548 with pods. It added about 2 m.p.h. to top end and does much better in the real sloppy mud. We put only 30 hours on it last season, but it seems fine. Only about 1/4 " clearance on the cav plate... and Clint warned us about the weaker mini frame. So far so good. Good luck.

Im getting some mods on it is the reason Im changing it. I know it can spin it, just wondering about the durability. Also, I think Im going to chop the fin of the cav plate off, I like the no plate spray better anyway. How does it clear on the bottom skeg? Thanks alot for the help, just what I needed to hear.

i eye balled it but didnt think it would clear. huh good info. 1/4 doesnt leave much room for trash.
with the clamp style bracing ide think you could put a sport style out drive on it.

I went ahead and chopped this fin off of the cav plate, sounds like I ought to be good on the skeg. Well see how it goes!
