Just purchased an GTR 35 on a center counsel 18' gator tail boat. I'm only turning 3550 on top end by myself, in deep water. Was wondering what is the recommended rpm at full throttle. also, what should the rpm's be in neutual when trottled down? The boat is mainly use in deep water, so any help on props would be appreciated. On top end, in deep water, with light load, i'm running about 25 mph. |

Welcome to MMT... I'm sure the guys that sold her to you can give ya the best help - but - there are three holes you can pin that thing into and it may run better if you experiment with the other settings... My stock 35 idles at about 850 and wide open 3800 to 3900 rpm in the water... You can check your rev limiter by slowly reving it out of water on the trailer to see what the max rpms are, a stock motor should be between 4000 and 4200.. |

The other two holes allow you to trim down further if you were to be in pure mud and needed to trim fully down in order to get out of somewhere... With that being said I can trim down plenty being in the top hole so don't think your sacrificing anything here... Should you get in a bind just remove the nut & bolt and the motor will drop to the lowest hole where the pin should stay all the time.... You only have one bolt & nut to really move around. I run now with my motor in the top hole. |

I will check what hole i'm running in and the rpm on the trailer when i get home today. I checked the plugs and air filter last night and they look fine. I know one of my problems is the motor is not alway throttling down in neutuel, causing me to have to engage forward at high rpm. Sometimes as high as 2000 rpm. Not good. |

Sounds like your springs might not be resetting. Check your idle your engine should always return back to an idle setting once you release the throttle if it doesn't there's something either causing it to stick or the springs are not putting enough force to reset the butterflies. |

ran my motor when i got home and couldn't get it right. I can adjust the set screw and make it idle right but at wot it would only turn 3650. Then at wot i can turn the screw and make it turn 4250 but at idle it won't go under 2000 rpm. is this the springs? |
