 Cracked Prop Shaft housing

Post Cracked Prop Shaft housing
Went for a little ride in the basin saturday. noticed some grease on the prop shaft housing. don't know how the hell it happened because I really didnt hit anything. What could have caused this and I wonder if this would be a warranty deal even though I bought the motor used.
