While running my boat a loud rattling started coming from my engine. This morning I took the plastic cover off the clutch and found the problem. The galvinized piece that the clutch sits in was rattling on the bolt that keeps it from spinning. I just added some electrical tape to the bolt to act like a bushing. My question is, is this piece supposed to be able to rotate if that bolt is out. Or did I lose a bushing for that bolt. I just don't see why it just now started rattling if nothing is wrong.

Sorry no pics.

it will rotate without the bolt....just make sure the bolts is tight. ;)

The bolt is tight. So why all the sudden the rattle. Did the vibration wear the cover so that the slot is bigger than the bolt (and that is not a common problem for me. Lol). I guess I'll just run it.

Just be sure the clutch slot is in the bolt.....
