my powertrim om pd is very slow and making a growling sound. it makes it going up and down. after a few times it seems the motor gets hot and quits working. after it cools down it will work again w/ the same growling sound. if it is my motor any idea what one would cost? it looks like i may have to remove the motor off the boat to replace it.

Bad connections can create a lot of extra heat. Check all of em, both ends...

How old is your power trim? The older ones had problems with moisture getting in the motor and corroding everything. Same symptoms as your describing.

the motor is about two years old. i sent kp at pd a video, hopefully he will get back w/ me today.

tell ya what owen, man you know your stuff. i took the motor apart and it definetly has moisture issues going on. when i talked to kp earlier he did say that they no longer use that unit. my motor is two years old, i have to see, hopefully is still under warrrenty.

I doubt it will still be under warranty because the frame is only a 1 year warranty. Call KP though and he will order you a new setup for what it costs them to get it.

gonna ordre one monday morn so it will be here. went to the lease in my flatboat and way to much work w/ low water conditions. good luck on your season owen.

Before you order the motor, I would check your trim switch because mine had moisture problems. Just thought i would give you the heads up to a problem that might happen later and maybe save you some on shipping.
