Internet investigation and phone calls to manufacturers have me more confused than when I started looking. I need a new prop, just don't know which one to buy. I've got a 32HP Pro-Drive, on a 1754 Tracker. I'm currently running an original Pro-Drive prop (cleaver style) I think it's 10 pitch. It's just slightly under 12" diameter but most of the cup is gone. Running with just me and the dog, it works pretty well (22.5 mph deep water, over 26 in the skinnies) but with a 3 man + gear load it was a pig in deep water. Couldn't ever get on step, plowed at around 12 mph. Shallow running was much better, around 21 mph. All the weight in the back (me and the motor are both pretty heavy) didn't help, but since it runs OK with just me in there it had to be the extra load that caused it to bog. Don't want to buy a bunch of props that don't work. Can anyone give me some helpful info so I might make the right choice the first time out? |
