Post subject:  GoDevil hex prop shaft?

I'm asking this question without doing any searches. But is the mud buddy shaft with the hex end interchangeable with the GoDevil shaft. I have found I like the 2 blade prop from go devil best, but after 30-40 hours, I have to have the prop heated with a torch and then torqued off the threaded shaft by a machine shop.

The hex shaft and prop seems like a much easier setup to deal with.

IIRC, the Go-Devil shaft is 2 pieces with a CV joint in the middle and the Mud Buddy is 1 piece. Anything is possible, and I am sure you can make/have one made.

There is a will, so there is a way.

Go get some 7/8 cold rolled and have it hex'd and keywayed to fit your CV-joint and pulleys at a local machine shop.

Let me correct my original post. I find the MudBuddy Big Blade to be my best performer over the 2 or 3 blade from GD. I do run a big boat and I find the 2 blade has too much pitch.

I don't understand how all the GD surface drives are being shipped with 3 blades and MB has basically ditched their 3 blade design and went back to the 2 blade.

I also like that the Big Blade is $179 new.

OK - then best help I could offer is that prop removal tool that GD sells, with
a good bit of grease on the shaft at installation and the 2 brass washers installed
one behind the prop and one in front - I have had no problems swapping mine out....

The GD 2 blade is a Hopkins design and Hopkins can sell you one in your choice
of pitch - but they are more expensive.... PM me is you want his phone number....

Only heard of one prop mfg with a threaded hex adapter for their props - but it
is a non-standard size hex and never read any solid revues that were favorable
