 Belt Housing Cracks?????
Any GatorTail owners ever have any problems like this? The first picture is a crack that I found yesterday on the belt housing. As you can see in the first picture I've also already cracked the support that bolts to the shaft housing and the belt housing as well. The 2nd and 3rd pics are where the brake caliper mounts to the belt housing. I noticed something was wrong the other day with my reverse and pulled it all apart and this is what I found. Now I run my motor almost every weekend and sometimes during the week, but I wouldn't consider myself any rougher with this motor than anyone that owns a MM. Anybody have any problems like this before?

 Re: Belt Housing Cracks?????
I had the same issue happen. It was because I never checked the tightness of the coupling between the output shaft & prop it had worked free then froze the seal / coupling whatever you want to call it to the prop. Mine cracked too. Mine was still under warranty Gator-Tail installed a new beefier housing free of charge & adjusted my belt. As DeltaDuckMaster said call Gator-Tail and they will fix you up.

viewtopic.php?f=7&t=9149&hilit=+housinghere's my post I made back in 2010. It appears the images have been removed (not by me) but maybe by the server. I wish I had photos of the prop on the seal... I would check that first. Make sure the seal is firmly against your output shaft and that the seal & prop have a 1/4-1/2 of clearance...

 Re: Belt Housing Cracks?????
2007 Motor with 250 hours on it, definately still not under warranty. I cut a piece of 1/4" aluminum plate and bolted it inside the housing and reinstalled my brake caliper last night so I can go brush my blinds this weekend. But, I will call Calen and see if he can fit me in next week to take a look at everything to make sure all is OK. Any idea on what it would cost to get the beefier housing? That's my luck, been running the motor all summer with no problems and the week before duck season opens all this crap happens.

 Re: Belt Housing Cracks?????
Ah well, gotta fix it!! With the 1/4" piece of plate I installed I think I'm good for right now just in case I can't get it into Calen anytime soon. I ain't missing opening weekend, or any weekend for that matter!
