 Lower unit oil replacement problem Pulled top Allen plug on LU and it looks like lithium grease running out everywhere. Pulled bottom plug and doing out as well. I have never changed this oil before and the motor has extremely low hours. Is this normal, it this how it comes when new. Have a container of gear oil but this crap coming out is the consisity of grease. Been running out now for bout 5 min.

Re: Lower unit oil replacement problem Think the color is coming from the water that was in it from the seal leak. Have an air hose with a 1/4" fitting on top and have small sweep out bottom to get as much out as possible. The put the new chit.

Re: Lower unit oil replacement problem LU seals were shot. Went see peck and got the new nut with three seals. Installed the new seals and wanted to change the oil cuz I new it was bad. Didn't run after replaced the seals. And here I am.
