I have a 35 GDSD and was wondering what prop I would get the best performance out of, a 2 or 3. I currently have a three blade on it and have reached speeds up to 28 in an empty boat on open water. I have heard that a two blade it much better but was wondering if anyone has experimented with both of them
.

What size boat do you have? I have tried the mudbuddy big blade, GD 2 blade and GD 3 blade.

I have decided to stick with the GD 3 blade.

GD 2 blade throws the best rooster tail. Mudbuddy big blade turns the most rpms.

My 3 blade has about 8 hrs on it and so far I'm pretty happy with it.

3 blade best for most rigs

MB big blade for heavy rigs - lower pitch

GD / Hopkins 2 blade for light rigs - 12x12 pitch

I have a 3 blade but I like the old 2 blade. The thing I like about the 3 blade is less vibration in the tiller.

I have a 1654 Grizzly. All i have in it is a 6 gal gas tank and a battery. Along with two seats so it does not have much weight to it at all.

On my 16x48 GDSD hull with 35 GDSD - I could get 30 mph out of the 3 blade @ 3950
and 32 mph out of the 2 blade @ 3900.....

If you can't get the rpms with the 11x11 pitch 3 blade you sure won't with the higher pitch 12x12

And - I found that if I kept the leading edges cleaned up with an orbital sander between
outings the 2 blade ran almost as smooth as the 3 blade...
