 2007 Prodrive lower unit problem
I just bought a 2007 32 prodrive. The motor runs great but i have what appears to be a oil/grease leak at the top of the lower unit right underneath the top skeg plat bracket. Does anyone one know how to address the problem. I spoke to a friend who is a mechanic who said to change the seals. I am just worried that i just purchased one with the bad lower unit which prodrive discontinued. Please Help Here is a pic

Used to be able to trade in your old one with 600 buck and get a new one.

If you ran it today it will be milky. Let it sit for a day then check it again

Re: 2007 Prodrive lower unit problem
You don't need a new LU. A seal change is in order and easy to do. Change the LU lube and run it. You will be fine till you get your lower seal from PD. I suggest getting a prop wrench and clutch pin (locks clutch to remove prop) while your at it.

Re: 2007 Prodrive lower unit problem
On a huntch i filled the grease fittings with grease and watched all the old grease and water roll out. I kept pumping until i seen new grease. 8 hours later the leak never returned. I think it was just old brokedown grease coming out. Since it never smelled like LU oil i think i fixed the problem

Re: 2007 Prodrive lower unit problem
Grease does not run. I change my LU gear lube often so I dont worry about what it looks like. You will be fine.
