Post Pro drive on GD barge
A friend of mine put a PD on his GD barge/blind, the prob is it don't perform good at all, it very hard to get it up on step in shallow or deep. PD installed the motor, so we are assuming it was done properly. It seems like to me the prop is always catching air. I know im not giving much info at the moment, maybe someone can give us a direction to look at. I know it's a big load on this boat, should he look at a different prop???

Does the leading edge of the prop seem pretty sharp?

U got a cut transom on that boat? PD doesn't like that transom, it could b that the motor is trimmed too hi r their is too much weight up front.

Prop seems sharp, Don't know what a cut transom is. Once the boat finally breaks over on plane it runs pretty good, I guess its just such a big boat is part of the prob. Add a full hunting and its a log.

Cut transom...there is a cut out portion where your transom meets the bottom of the boat.

instead of the L shape at the back of the boat, some boats have about the last 6 or 8 inches of flat bottom at a 45 deg. angle to meet the transom, hence the cut transom. I have a 16-44 go devil boat with a cut transom and a 27 pro drive and I don't see it holding the performance back.
