Just have to find a way to suspend the motor. 4 bolts and the top lifts off, 4 screws and the spline adapter comes off, 1 more bolt and the clutch comes off. I never had any issues getting the clutch off, but if yours is stubborn, you may need a lil penetrating oil. It's a pretty simple job.

Took me 30 minutes to figure out how to keep the motor suspended and about 30-45 to change it. Not too bad.

When the clutch goes out does it start slipping first or does it go out totally?

If I am not mistaken that peice is supposed to be machined fitted to the friction plate.

When that machined fit breaks it lets the friction plate rattle on the magnet and eats away at the plastic coating.

This in turn ends up grounding out and burning up the clutch.

Changed mine last week due to that peice breaking off of the plate and rattling.

I am sure it wouldnt have been long until mines burnt out.

I think my dads has a Lil over 300 on it. Mine has been on a few different frames, but I think its in the same neighborhood.

Kinda like a transmission "can" fail at 20k and may last several 100k. A clutch "could" fail at 20 hrs but may last a couple thousand... just never know. Keep them somewhat clean with a good power source and they should last a- long time. Dirty as hell with shitty power may not last so long.
