Hey all. I'm replacing the lower housing on my 36hp prodrive. I got the old one out and now I've got to get the new one in. Does anyone have any tricks to getting that bad boy in? It a big interferance fit. I believe I measured .060" That's a lot. Well, looking for some nice home garage ideas. Right now I can only come up with using 2 big C-clamps or bar clamps to squeeze the bushing in. I tried with one C-clamp but could get it to work. I also tried hitting it in with a rubber hammer. What you guys got!

Mine had a slit in it so you could squeeze it together by hand and get it started. I used a hammer and piece of wood to beat it the rest of the way in.

I wish mine had the slit. I measured it with a caliper and it's got like a .060 interferance fit. That seems a little high. that means it needs to compress 1/16 of an inch diameter wize to squeeze in there. I have to look at it more, but something isn't making sense.
