My GTR 35 pulls left. Its not so bad that you cannot stand it, but after a long run your arm gets tired. The guys at GT taold me I could bend the plate on the lower unit to get rid of this.

My question is has anybody had to do this yet?

I have adjusted my load every which way possible. It gets better with every thing on right side of boat but I don't like it that way. I want to load the boat the way I want it loaded any ideas will help.

These boats like to be loaded even. Yes you can bend the skeg we all do it. But finding the balance in the boat is key...

I spent probably 36 hours straight this weekend on the water. My brother and i loaded boat even; just the way it should be. We loaded heavy on right; we loaded heavy on left. heavy on right took most of the pull out of the motor, but boat set wrong in water. I have been around boats all my life I understand how to load one.

What is the best way to bend the skeg and how much do you need to bend it? My GTR has a small cut out piece that is already bent slightly to left if you are standing behind motor. Is that the piece you want to bend back?

Yes..bend that part of the skeg in the opposite direction of which it pushes.

what is the easiest way to bend it? Take big wrench and bend?

I screwed on one of the torque tabs on the Port side of my skeg. It cured Most of my pulling. WHen I have a load I can balance it all out and actually the boat does better with weight in it.

I can feel my dog walk around the boat on the way to the blind each morning. I added a larger torque tab & bent my skeg with a large wrench.

IF you put alot of weight on one side and it took alot of tiller torque out, have you made sure that your motor is centered on your transom, just a question but i have seen it before. I can understand moving a little weight here and there but if you put alot of weight on one side and it cured alot of it that very well may be your problem

I've got the same problem. Usually I put everyone or everything in the middle, with just a little extra on the right. Cant put anyone or anything on the left or it pulls too hard for comfort. I've been meaning to bend the torque tab just havent gotten around to it.

If your motor isn't bolted on or you want to move it you can push your motor over 1" and it will help!! Were do you drive it from on the side of the tiller or in front of it!! Believe me you can get it to were it won't pull at all just have to make adjustments till it's right !! What kind of boat is it on also

My motor is dead center. I took alot of time to make sure. I plan to bend skeg to right just a little and see what happens.

As for stoking it with the left hand; I have found if you will first sit on your left hand till it gets numb from lack of blood then stroke it, it is like some one else is doing it for you.............

Dead center. Bend skeg. If that don't fix it, move motor 1" to port side.
