Just some information for anyone wanting to order a prop. About 10 months ago I ordered a 9x6 or what I thought was a normal sub surface 9x6 prop from Arlen at back water. The prop has performed outstanding on my 6.5hp homebuilt shortail and when I ordered it I told him my gearing and hp and he was very interested to get it right and told me he was going to send me a prop to try. Well when I finally called him back to possibly order another he looked in his records and found that he had sent me what he called a 9x6 lite that he had reworked and taken some of the cup out before he sent it so I think this guy knows his stuff. Also, I may be wrong but I think he mentioned to me in conversation that he used to work for one of the big companies like beavertail but is now doing his own thing. Anyway, if anybody is looking for a prop give him a look and dont just order online without giving him a call. In addition, I am pretty sure he does not do surface drive or surface piercing props just longtail sub surface.
